I am an experienced and passionate singer and vocal coach with over 20 years of solo singing experience. I completed my Master’s degree in Professional Voice Practice at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. A few years ago, my passion for singing, voice, and performing led me to start teaching and coaching singers of all ages and abilities. Since then, I have been sharing my passion and knowledge with students, both in the studio in Aberystwyth and online, reaching students in any location.
I work with individuals of all ages and abilities, including professionals, preparing students for performances and auditions, as well as those who sing for their own pleasure and joy. Additionally, I work with actors and teachers on their spoken voice and healthy voice use, and with individuals experiencing voice problems.
My approach is professional yet approachable, aiming to create a friendly and supportive environment for all my students.

I started Vocalize Studio in 2018 with the aim of helping people of all abilities and ages improve their vocal skills, build confidence, and understand and control their voices. I truly believe that singing is not a matter of talent; if you can speak, you can sing! I believe that we all have a singing voice, and my mission is to help you discover yours. I work with a variety of clients on both their singing and speaking voices. During lessons with me, you’ll learn about healthy and efficient voice use, as well as exploring the potential of your own voice.
I am a passionate singer and have been singing since 2003. My love of music and the singing voice led me to start teaching, and through my work, I hope to inspire others to explore and develop their vocal skills.
My teaching style is relaxed yet goal-oriented. I set specific goals with my students and help them achieve these objectives. During our sessions, I focus on technical exercises tailored to the student’s needs, as well as their chosen repertoire. I work with students in the style and genre of their choice, ensuring a personalised and enjoyable learning experience.
How it all happened?
Originally from Poland, I moved to Aberystwyth, Wales, in 2012 and have lived here ever since. I studied at the Karlowicz Music School in Zielona Gora, Poland, and for many years I honed my singing skills at Rezonans Studio in Zielona Gora. I completed a degree in Drama, Theatre, and Performance at Aberystwyth University, graduating in 2015.
I have a particular interest in Estill Voice Training and, in 2019, I completed the Estill Level 1 & Level 2 courses as well as the Estill for Singing Teachers course. My passion for singing and vocal coaching led me to pursue postgraduate study, and in 2024, I graduated with an MA in Professional Voice Practice from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Throughout my career as a singer, I have performed on many stages both in the UK and Central Europe, both as a solo artist and with bands. Currently, I perform as a singer in the music duo ‘Soulful Fusion’, covering genres of jazz, soul, and blues, as well as our original music.

I believe that each of us possesses a singing voice, and I am dedicated to helping every individual I work with discover their unique vocal potential.

James works alongside Vocalize Studio, supporting students with music theory, aural training and accompanying. He offers his own piano and music theory lessons as Ceredigion Piano Tutor.
